In Remembrance Of
Carrie Ann Miller
Carrie Ann Miller, 32, of Smithville Missouri, passed away September 16, 2010 at NorthCare Hospice House at North Kansas City Hospital surrounded by family and friends after a short untreatable fight against uterine cancer.
She was born July 11, 1978 in Smithville, Missouri to Ronald E. Miller and Catherine T. Chewning. Carrie graduated from North Platte High in 1996 and was a current student of the University of Phoenix, studying business management.
She worked as an Insurance Auditor for ARO from September 2004 until she was laid off in January of 2009. Carrie’s biggest ambition in life was to be a business entrepreneur.
She was also a very artistic person who created beautiful items such as holiday purses, decorative candles, and rose petal soaps that were sold at the Crafters Corner in downtown Smithville.
Everyone that knew Carrie was aware of her wicked sense of humor. She spared no one when it came to pulling practical jokes and stunts. Carrie was also notorious for the scavenger hunts she created. There was never a frowning face or dull moment when Carrie was in the room. Being around her was always a fun time, full of hilarious laughter.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Arnold Miller formerly of Ridgley; Donald Moore formerly of Canada, and her uncle Larry Miller formerly of Ridgley.
Carrie is survived by her father, Ron Miller of Platte City; mother, Cathy Chewning of Smithville; Stepfather Gene Chewning of Rich Hill; grandparents, Michael and Margaret Hawson of Platte City; grandmother, Katie Miller of Ridgley; sister, Christy Miller and brother, Cliff Miller of Smithville; niece, Kaitlyn Miller of Parkville, nephew and niece, Trent and Tessa Miller of Smithville; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 19th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial: Smithville Memorial Cemetery.
Donations: American Cancer Society
