CAROL ANN CARPENTER

Carol Ann Carpenter, 50, of Agency, Mo., passed away, Friday, June 17, 2005 in St. Joseph, MO.

Carol was born on June 22, 1954 to Charles Gregory and Pauline Grace (Gensheer) Adkins in Dearborn, MO, where she attended elementary school. The family later moved to the Gower area where she grew up and graduated high school.

Carol graduated from Gards Business School in St. Joseph, MO, with a Secretarial degree. She worked for 32 years for the State of Missouri. She started in 1972 as a secretary for Vocational Rehab, transferred to the Department of Mental Health, as an accountant in 1981, and moved to Northwest Missouri Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center in 1997, where she worked until the present. She was a very active member of the Agency United Methodist Church.

On May 10, 1974 she was united in marriage to David Carpenter in Dearborn, MO. After their marriage they lived in the Gower area, later moving to Agency, MO where they made their home.

Carol waged a courageous battle against Breast Cancer for 14 years, with the courage and the strength in her faith.

She was preceded in death by her father, one infant sister, Nancy Pat Adkins, an infant niece, and several infant nephews and nephew, Jason Eugene Carpenter.

Survivors include her husband, David Carpenter of the home, two daughters, Casey Marie Huffman and husband, Mark of St. Joseph, MO, and Lesley Ann Carpenter of the home, one grandchild, Eli David Joseph Huffman, her mother, Pauline Adkins-Borgmier, Gower, MO, three brothers, Charles Adkins, and wife Stacy, of Gower, MO, Donald Adkins and wife Joan, of Maysville, MO, Jim Bob Adkins and wife TJ, of Gower, MO, three sisters, Janice McNutt and husband, Mike of St. Joseph, MO, Connie Woodson and husband, Alan of Union Town, KS, and Mary Crawford and husband Tom of Roscoe, MO, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. She dearly loved each and every one.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at Agency United Methodist Church.
BURIAL: Agency Cemetery
VISITATION: 6:30-9:00 P.M., Monday, at the church.

Donations in lieu of flowers: Agency United Methodist Church or Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower, is in charge of arrangements.
