Carl W. Sloan
Carl W. Sloan, 99, of rural Plattsburg, MO, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, February 26, 2018.
He was born on February 22, 1919 to Charles Roy and Sallie B. (Burnett) Sloan in Caldwell County where he grew up and attended school.
On June 3, 1945 he was united in marriage to Mary Elberta Shannon. After their marriage they lived in rural Clinton County where they made their home.
Carl was a member and a Deacon of the Mt. Zion Freewill Baptist Church. He was an active member of Masonic Lodge and was honored with the distinction of being a member for 70 years. He was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
For over 50 years he owned and operated Sloan Construction Company and was a member of the Land Improvement Contractors Association. As a rural Clinton County cattle farmer, he was a member of the Missouri Cattlemen’s Association and National Cattlemen’s Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Elberta of 65 years who passed away on January 19, 2011.
He is survived by his children, Sally Slatinsky and husband Paul, Charlie Sloan and wife Mary Jo, Gail Holman and husband Trice and David Sloan and wife Gara; grandchildren, Tammy (Ed) Job, Kathy (Dan) Strieker, Scott (Terisa) Sloan, Wesley (Rachel) Sloan, John (Shelly) Holman, and Jeff (Demie) Holman; great-grandchildren, Truman Job, Caroline Job, Margaret Job, Ashley Slatinsky, Lydia Strieker, Matthew Sloan, Stella Sloan, Charles Sloan, William Sloan, Carly Holman, Kaitlyn Holman, and Wyatt Holman; sister Doris Keller; other relatives and many friends.
Masonic Service: 5:30 p.m. with Visitation following until 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 2nd at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower
Funeral Services: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 3rd at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower

Burial: Mt. Zion Cemetery, Gower.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mt. Zion Cemetery Association Fund.
