Carl Edward Nevins

Carl Edward Nevins, 65, of Edgerton, MO, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2012.

 

He was born on December 29, 1946 to Carl Needom and Gwendalyn Mary (Snyder) Nevins in Ottumwa, IA where he grew up and attended school.  Ed then served his country in the US Air Force with the TET Offensive during the Vietnam War.

 

On October 22, 1966 he was united in marriage to Jeannette Marie Ellis.  After their marriage they lived in the Edgerton area where they made their home and raised their children.  His wife, Jeannette, passed away June 24, 2008.

 

Ed retired from Beagles Rental Center as a diesel mechanic.  He loved hunting, fishing and most of all playing his guitar for his family. 

 

He was also preceded in death by his parents and brothers and sisters, Sharon, Mike, Donald, Sandy, and Diane

 

Ed is survived by his children, Carla Myers, Gower, MO, Phillip Nevins and wife, Mary, Kansas City, MO, Susie and Gary Dunn, Edgerton, MO, and Sally Butterworth, Camden Point, MO; grandchildren, Kristen, Katrina, Kassandra, Alex, Bradley, Jaid, Kayla, Sailor, Alexis, Hunter, Cody, Wyatt and Gage; great-grandchildren, Aydin, Ariana and Conner; brother and best friend Samuel J Nevins and wife Linda, Keytesville, MO; sisters, Lillian , Amarillo, TX, Judy Rose and husband Larry, Ottumwa, IA, Mary Headly and husband Junior, Ottumwa, IA, Janet Kibler and husband Chris, Polo, MO, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. 

 

Memorial Visitation:  6:30-8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 13th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton.
