C.D. Gardner

Charles Dowell “C.D.” Gardner, 79, of Plattsburg, MO passed away October 20, 2018.

He was born on July 18, 1939 in Plattsburg, MO where he grew up and attended school.

On October 2, 1957 he was united in marriage to Anna May Thompson. After their marriage they lived in Plattsburg where they made their home.

C.D. retired from United Coop in Plattsburg after 42 years of service. He enjoyed bowling, doing yard work, night fishing, going to the Indy 500 races and most of all spending time with his family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Rex Gardner and Lillie Watson; brothers Sonny Gardner and Roy Gene Gardner; sister Rev. Lela Watson; and son-in-law Andre Marceau.

C.D. is survived by his wife of 61 years, Anna May Gardner; children Debbie Gardner DeFreece and husband Terry, Chuck Gardner and Lynda Gardner Marceau; grandchildren Cristina (Chad) Vincent, Derick (Becky) DeFreece, Nicholas (Jenny) DeFreece, Magan Araiza, Ashley Gardner, Devin (Jess) Gardner, Amanda (Ariel) Lallana, and Skylar Marceau; thirteen great-grandchildren; sisters Helen (Sonny) Perman, Doris Kauffman and Rose (John) Utter; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

 Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 25th with visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower 

Burial: Greenlawn Cemetery, Plattsburg, MO
