Burl Kinder

Burl Kinder, 82, of Smithville, MO passed away Saturday, January 26, 2008 at his home.

He was born on December 21, 1925 to William Franklin and Ada Mae (Arney) Kinder. He grew up in the Brimson area and attended school in Bethany, MO. He then served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. After his honorable discharge he returned to Northwest Missouri.

On July 1, 1959 he was united in marriage to Shirley Lou Fry. After their marriage they lived in Smithville where they made their home. His wife, Shirley, passed away, April 1, 2002.

Burl worked for Midwest Research Institute in Kansas City, Missouri for over 30 years. After his retirement and his father-in-law’s death, he took over the family farm.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 58 in Smithville.

Burl was also preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Ira Lee Kinder.

He is survived by son, Michael Kinder and wife, Lorrissa; three grandchildren, Joshua Wyatt, Claire Louanne, and Nathan Alexander, all of Smithville; sisters, Mary Pyle and husband, Ed, Excelsior Springs, MO, and Maxine Smith, Albany, MO; brothers, Bob Kinder and wife, Bobbie Jean, Illinois, and Marvin Dale Kinder and wife, Yvonne, Bethany, MO, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Celebration of Life: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 29th at the Vineyard Church, Kansas City, MO, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial: I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Smithville

Arrangements Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Vineyard Children’s Ministry.
