In Remembrance Of

Bud Wilkerson
Bud Wilkerson, of Gower, MO passed away, April 24, 2026.
Bud was born on January 23, 1943 to Thomas Lee and Maxine E. (Prewitt) Wilkerson in Kansas City, MO.
Bud was united in marriage to Joyce Whiteley. After their marriage they made their home in Gower.
Bud was the first East Buchanan graduate to receive a division I scholarship which is where his passion for Mizzou football began. He played Nose Guard at the University of Missouri and his love for the team did not cease after his playing days were over. He was an avid Mizzou football fan and had been a season ticket holder for over 50 years. Along with his passion for football, he loved Disney World and his grandchildren. Bud was front row at every sporting event for his grandkids, Gillian and Matt. Whether it was four hours away or down the road, Bud was there. He made a lasting impression on anyone who crossed his path. He was an ornery jokester in the best way possible and would give the shirt off of his back to a stranger if needed
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Kay Wilson.
Bud is survived by his wife, Joyce of 60 years; daughters, Tammi (Scott) Cutter, Misty (Jeff) Howard; grandchildren, Gillian, Matt, Hudson and Sloane; sister, Donna Zoroor; brother-in-law, Ron (Helen) Whiteley; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 28th at Mt. Olivet Christian Church, Smithville, MO.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, April 27th at Mt. Olivet Christian Church, Smithville, MO.
Burial: Allen Cemetery, Gower, MO

My deepest sympathies to you Joyce, Tammi, and Misty. I fondly remember Bud and his great sense of humor and what a great friend he was to my dad Rich. They will be laughing together in heaven now and taking those great walks.

Bud was such a great friendly and caring man of God. He was fun to be with and his humor always left laughing, especially on the golf course. He was always talking about his 3 girls (includes Joyce) and his grandchildren, who he loved deeply. The one thing that stands out most about Bud was his faith and love for his Lord Jesus Christ.
