Brenda Wilder

Brenda Kay Wilder, 67, of Edgerton, MO passed away April 10, 2024.

She was born on July 11, 1956, to William Carrel “Billy” and Maxine (Teeple) Harmer in Smithville, MO. Brenda grew up in Edgerton and helped at the family restaurant Harmer’s Café. She graduated from North Platte High School.

Brenda married Clarence Wilder and they made their home in Edgerton. She enjoyed planting flowers and tomato plants and going to her brother John’s farms. She loved hanging out with her mom and sister Karen at the café, thrift shopping with her sister Karen, family gatherings and most of all spending time with her nieces and nephews who she called her kids. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Wilder; her father Billy Harmer; grandparents Carrel and Martha Harmer and Bill and Eileen Teeple and special friend Dale Jones.

Brenda is survived by her mother Maxine Harmer; brother John Harmer; sister Karen (Harmer) Belt; nieces and nephews Tim Huntsman, Sarah Klein, Danny Harmer, Andy (Charlene) Landis, Cory (Melissa) Harmer, and Billie (Cody) Routon; great-nieces and nephews Nick, Chase, Kellan, Lily, Andie, Sophia and Lukas; other relatives and many friends. 

Visitation: 1:30-2:30 p.m. with Funeral Service at 2:30  p.m. Sunday, May 5th at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Edgerton.

Inurnment Reed Cemetery.

    Maxine and Family,
    I’m so very sorry to hear about Brenda. She had such a kind heart and was such a hard worker. I can still remember a couple of slumber parties we had at your house. In later years when I’d be in town visiting my dad and we’d run in to her, she always remembered who I was and met me with a smile. My prayers are with you all.
