Bob Girard
Bob Girard, 76, of Minco, OK passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016.
He was born on September 14, 1939 to Ernest and Mildred (Steenrod) Girard in Minco, OK. He grew up in Calumet, where he graduated high school. Bob then received his Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree at Oklahoma State University in Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering.
He was united in marriage to Grace Effenbeck and had two children. After their marriage they lived in St. Charles, MO where they made their home.
Bob’s accomplishments included participation on the Apollo Mission. He was also the Chief Engineer on the Chinook Helicopter and assisted with the Apache Helicopters.
Bob is survived by his two daughters, Cheryl Sharkey and husband Sean McCaul; Tracy Ruhlman and husband Cliff; grandchildren, Alex Girard Sharkey, Ashleigh Brooke Sharkey, and Annemarie Ruhlman; other relatives and many friends.

I knew Bob from working with him at ACF Industries in St. Charles in the late 1970’s. He was also a pilot so we had many things to talk about. He will be missed.
