Blanche (Copeland) Hay

Blanche Hay, 96 of St. Joseph, passed away, Friday, June 1, 2012.

She was born on July 13, 1915 to George and Louisa (Smith) Copeland in Edgerton, MO, where she grew up and attended school.

She was united in marriage to Harry Shafer Hay. After their marriage they lived in Kansas City. Her husband, Harry, passed away in 1966.

She was a bookkeeper for A&P Grocery in Kansas City. After her retirement she moved to St. Joseph. Blanche enjoyed crocheting.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter, Harriett Lee Hay; brother, Charles, sisters, Rosalee and Anna.

Blanche is survived by her daughter, Hilary Ramsey, Rushville, MO; three grandchildren, Melissa Gasper, Jennifer Gardner, and Martin Ramsey; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation: 6:30-8:00 p.m. Monday, June 5^th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton.

Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 6^th at Union Mill Cemetery. Procession will begin at the funeral home.
