Billy Roe
Billy Roe, 82, of Trimble, MO passed away, Saturday, March 12, 2016.
He was born on July 17, 1933 to Madison Bathis and Maggie Lee (Combs) Roe in Viola, Arkansas where he grew up and graduated high school. Billy then served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
On January 20, 1962 he was united in marriage to Jean Crawford. After their marriage they lived in Kearney for a few years and in the Gracemore Community in Kansas City for 18 years. In 1983 they moved near Trimble where they made their home.
Billy was a truck driver for 37 years and retired from Middlewest Freightways. He loved spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, and enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball when his children were younger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Lucille Hatman, Nadine Hester, and Marie Marlin, and brother Raymond Roe.
Billy is survived by his wife, Jean, of the home; children, Shary Hill and husband Kenny, Tim Roe and wife Sandy, Melonie Simmons and husband Glen, and Curt Roe and wife Michelle; grandchildren, Chase Roe and wife Crystal, Katie Gordon and husband Austen, Stephanie Roe, Alexcia Roe, and Haley Roe; great-grandchildren, Blace and Emerson Yeager; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Celebration of Billy’s Life: 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 15th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation from 11 am-1 pm prior to the service.
Burial with Military Honors: Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kearney, MO.
