Billy Joe Rainsbarger

Billy Joe Rainsbarger, 62, of St. Joseph, MO, formerly of Dearborn, MO, passed away, September 6, 2008 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on November 22, 1945 to Edward Ezariah and Maurine (Fugate) Rainsbarger in Brawley, CA. Billy grew up and attended school in California. He served his country for 21 years in the US Army during the Vietnam War and Desert Storm. On September 10, 1974 he was united in marriage to Elke G. Beyer. In 1991 Billy retired from the US Army and the family moved to Dearborn, MO and later moved to St. Joseph, MO where they made their home.

Billy also worked for Missouri Western State University in the maintenance department where he retired after 15 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Elke, of the home; two sons, David Rainsbarger and fiancée Tara Bunton and Charles Rainsbarger and wife, Ashley; one daughter, Cynthia Rainsbarger all of St. Joseph; two grandchildren, Ashley and Briana Rainsbarger; three brothers, Jim and wife, Kay, Dearborn, MO, Donald and wife, Donna, Anchorage, Alaska, and Carl, St. Joseph; sister, Linda Deon and husband, Bill, San Bernardino, CA; several nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 9th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton.

Burial: 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Clarks Chapel Cemetery, Booneville, MO

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton
