Billie Jean (Canrell) Mitchell
Billie Jean Mitchell, 84, of St. Joseph, MO passed
away Monday, December 7, 2015.
She was born on February 24, 1931 to John Kenneth and
Sadie M. (Moore) Cantrell in Hannibal, MO.
Billie attended school in Quincy, IL and Hannibal, MO.
Billie retired from the Buchanan County Sheriff’s
Department. She was also a manager of
Howard Johnson’s Restaurant in St. Joseph.
She was a life-long member of the Assembly of God
Church. Billie was a hard worker and
focused on her family first.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents; sister,
Gay N. Schaffnit; and brother, John Cantrell.
She is survived by her son Steve Mitchell and wife
Annette; grandchildren Stephanie Girvan and husband David and Michael Mitchell
and wife Elizabeth; great-grandchildren Dylan, Sisely, Jacob, Solomon, and
Samuel; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service:
6:30 p.m. Friday, December 11th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home,
Gower with visitation following until 8:30 p.m.
Burial: 2:00
p.m. Saturday December 12th at Shiloh Cemetery, Plainville, IL
