Bill W. Boner
Bill Wayne Boner, 72, of Plattsburg, formerly of Stanberry, Savannah, and Smithville, MO passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010 at his home.
He was born on August 22, 1937 to John W. and Anna Lora (Helton) Boner in Falls City, Nebraska. Bill grew up in Stanberry and in 1954 he graduated from Stanberry High School. He then served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge he lived in Savannah, MO, Smithville, MO and in 1972, Bill moved to Plattsburg, MO where he made his home.
Bill worked as a mechanic for Kindred Chevrolet in Smithville and later retired from Everett Quarries in Plattsburg.
He was a loyal member of the Broadway United Methodist Church in Plattsburg where he sang in the church choir and helped with the youth programs. Bill was a volunteer for the area agency Provide-A-Ride and was also a member of the American Legion Post #97 and the Senior Citizen Center both in Plattsburg.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Michelle Corneleius; granddaughter, Jennifer Corneleius; and ten brothers and sisters.
He is survived by daughter, Shawna McLallen and husband, Jim, one son, Joe Boner, all of Plattsburg; three granddaughters, Bobbi Jo, Aimee and Jamie McLallen; one grandson, Cody McLallen; five great-grandchildren, one sister Rosie Ross, Stanberry, MO; four sons from a previous marriage and their families; former mother-in-law, Nancy Streeter, Plattsburg and former sister-in-law, Sharon Willson, Plattsburg; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 20th at the Plattsburg United Methodist Church, Plattsburg,
Burial: Mt. Zion Cemetery, Gower
Visitation: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday January 19th at the church
Donations: Bill’s Memorial Fund
