BILL PETTITE
LaMarr William ?Bill? Pettite, 72, of Savannah, MO, formerly of St. Joseph, MO, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2006.
He was born on March 17, 1933 to Harold Oliver and Dorothea Mildred (Smith) Pettite in Sidney, Nebraska. He grew up and graduated from Upland Nebraska High School. Bill then served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge he returned to Nebraska.
On October 1, 1988 he was united in marriage to Sharron Sessions. After their marriage they lived in St. Joseph and later moved to Savannah, Missouri.
Bill owned and operated P & S Trucking Express in Savannah. Prior to that he was a self-employed trucker for many years.
He was a member of VFW Post #5539 in Nebraska.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Dennis Wayne Pettite and Robert Eugene Pettite, from his first marriage to Ramah Davis, and one brother, Ralph Dennis Pettite.
He is survived by his wife, Sharron of the home, five sons, Earl O. Pettite, and Timothy William Pettite, both of St. Joseph, Billy G. Smith, Helena, Mo., Barry C. Smith, St. Joseph and Brian D. Smith, Cameron, Mo., one daughter, Bobbee Karguth, Helena, Mo., sixteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren , one sister, Betty Beinhoff, Holdrege, Nebraska, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Graveside Service with Military Honors 2:30 p.m.. Thursday, January 19th at Leavenworth National Cemetery
Visitation: 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower
