Bill and Connie Crump

   

Bill, 86, and Connie, 68, Crump of Gower, Mo. passed away on Jan. 24th and 21st.

Connie passed in the hospital with her children by her side the evening of  Jan. 21st. After nearly 50 years together and a stated desire not to live without one another Bill followed her in death the morning of Jan. 24th at Gower Convalescent Center also comforted by his children.

Bill was born  February 1st, 1926 to Fithian Keith and Elva Marie (Johnston) Crump in St. Joseph, MO. He worked many interesting jobs from his first, shoe delivery, to tobacco farming, and wrought iron installation. After graduating business school he moved to Rose Hill, Kansas to start a farm with his former wife Gladys and seven children while also beginning his career in aircraft manufacturing.

Bill had a lively sense of humor and a love of the outdoors which he shared with Connie when they met and married in the late ‘60s.

Connie was born October 27th, 1944 to Emil Edwin and Jane Louise (Fales) Bazer in Omaha, NE.She had immeasurable love and devotion in her care for the elderly. She was a devoted homemaker, for a time a business woman, sometimes a waitress, and later an equally devoted nursing home aide. This love was inspired by her beloved grandparents, whose memory was a life long comfort.

Together they lived in the country home they shared with their son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter, and beloved dogs.

They lived in Missouri, Texas, and California, and raised three children together.   

They were sadly preceded in death by their son, Daniel Edwin Crump and grandsons/step grandsons David Taylor Stewart and Terry Allen Crump.

They are survived by their children/stepchildren Bobby Krow, Wanda Stewart, Jay Crump, Cindy Goddard, BJ McGuire, Joe Crump, Billy Crump, Crystal Simmon and Marc Crump, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, friends and family.

Memorial Service:  11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 6th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Gower, MO with visitation one hour prior to the service.

They would be happy for flowers, plants, or donations of soft lap blankets to go to Gower Convalescent Center, 323 U.S. 169  Gower, MO 64454 816.424.6483.

    You were like my 2nd parents. I spent most of my childhood at your house. I will never forget the camping and fishing trips and the way you always made me feel like family. Until we meet again.
