Beverly Jeanne Rasmussen
Beverly Jeanne Rasmussen, 78, of Humboldt, chose to walk the path of eternal life in Heaven as her family gathered together during the early morning hours of November 2, 2010. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt with the Rev. Walden Paige officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home of Humboldt is in charge of arrangements.
Bev is survived by her husband, Robert of Humboldt; children, Steve Rasmussen of Ft. Dodge, Shari (Jack) Klein of Gower, MO, Sandy (Greg) Mattson of Alta, Sue (Bruce) Reimers of Humboldt, Scott Rasmussen of Humboldt, and Stewart Rasmussen of Humboldt; 21 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren with two more on the way; and sisters, JoAnn (Jerry) George of Humboldt, and Sue (Lee) Pollack of Chicago, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Beverly Jeanne Simpson, the daughter of Eugene and Lillian (Woods) Simpson, was born December 25, 1931 at Lucas, Iowa. As a young girl, Bev moved with her family to Rutland. She received her education at Rutland and Humboldt, graduating from Humboldt High School. She was united in marriage to Robert Rasmussen on March 5, 1949 and the couple made their home at Humboldt. They later moved to North Platte, Nebraska and in 1972 returned to Humboldt where they established Rasmussen Electric and Bev served as bookkeeper and sold appliances for many years. She then worked for Revco Drug and Hy-Vee in Humboldt until her retirement.
Bev was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church, a past member of Humboldt Community Chorus, was a member and past president of the Welcome Wagon in North Platte. She enjoyed playing bridge and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
