Betty Sue (Blankenship) Jacobson
Betty Sue (Blankenhip) Jacobson, 78, of Kansas City, MO passed away, March 12, 2015.
She was born on March 25, 1936 to Roy Lee and Mattie Mae (Wilson) Blankenship in Trimble, MO. She grew up in the Ridgely, MO area and graduated from North Platte High School in 1954.
On March 26, 1977 she was united in marriage to Jon H. Jacobson, Sr. After their marriage they lived in Kansas City where they made their home.
Betty was a credit manager for American Hospital Supply/Scientific Products/Baxter, retiring after 31 years. After her retirement she worked for Guys Foods for 10 years.
She was a member of the Metro Baptist Church in Kansas City where she participated in home visits. Betty also volunteered at the Shepherd Center, and was on the Board of Trustees in Oakwood. Betty enjoyed being with her family, was a wonderful step-mother, step-grandmother and friend. She loved to cook, work in her garden, and watch basketball.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Leroy Blankenship.
Betty is survived by her husband, Jon, of the home; step-children, E. Denise Lundberg and husband Tim, and Jon Jacobson, Jr. and wife Cynthia; step-grandchildren, Emily, Lauren and Carter Lundberg and Matthew, Alexandria and Paul Jacobson; sister-in-law, Darlene Blankenship; aunt Rebecca Robb; niece Wendy Shipley and husband Mike, nephew Spencer Blankenship and wife Lori; cousins Lynn Patton and husband Andy, Randall L. Robb and Drew Patton; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 17th at Metro Baptist Church, Kansas City.
Burial: Ridgley Cemetery
Visitation: 6-8 pm Monday at the church.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Metro Baptist Church, Northcare Hospice or National Kidney Foundation.
