Betty Rae Collins

Betty
Rae Collins, 90, of Smithville, MO passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015.

 

She
was born on October 23, 1924 to James Harry and Ruby Ophelia (Etheridge) Rodney
in Webb City, MO where she grew up and attended school.
 

 

On
September 18, 1943 she was united in marriage to Leonard E. Collins.
  After their marriage they lived in Webb City
and Kansas City and in 1958 they moved near Edgerton where they made their
home.
  Her husband Leonard preceded her
in death on December 22, 1982.

 

Betty
worked at Elder Shirt Factory in Webb City and most of all she was a homemaker.

 

She
was a member of the Vine of Life Church in Smithville.
  She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, playing and
listening to music and yodeling.
  She
also loved playing board and card games especially when she won.
 

 

Betty
was also preceded in death by her parents; daughters Carol Jean Cockriel,
Barbara Ann Estes; sons-in-law Larry Cockriel and Larry Huffman; brothers
Franklin, Calvin, Tommy, and Clyde Rodney and sister Anna Belle Rodney.

 

She
is survived by her children, Wanda Marlene Cockriel and husband Marvin, Connie
Sue Huffman, Rick Collins and wife Kathy, Curt Collins, and Karen Harris; grandchildren Ray, Cheryl, Ricky, Vickie, Gary,
Jeff, Melissa, Nick, Mike, Megan, Justin, and Christi; twenty-three
great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister Evelyn Lucille
Simpson; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

 

Funeral
Service:
  12:00 p.m. (noon) Monday August
3, 2015 with visitation from 11:00-12:00 prior to the service all at Vine of
Life Church, Smithville

Burial:  Ridgely Cemetery
