Betty Lee (West) Boydston
Betty Lee (West) Boydston, 83, of Dearborn, MO passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at the Gower Convalescent Center.
She was born on May 13, 1926 to Pearl Turner and Mabel Daisy (Davis) West in Edgerton, MO where she grew up and graduated from Edgerton High School.
On September 9, 1944 she was united in marriage to Owen Garland Boydston. After Owen retired from the Navy in 1961 they moved back to the Dearborn area where they made their home. He preceded her in death on November 1, 1989.
Betty worked at the Bank of Edgerton where she retired in 1978. She later worked at the Gower Convalescent Center.
She was a life long member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Edgerton.
Betty was also preceded in death by her parents; infant son Allen Wayne; brothers, J.C. West, Allen “Doc” West, Alonzo West, Earl “Toad” West, Clarence West, infant brother, Pearl, Jr.; and sister, Marguerite Pulliam.
She is survived by three daughters, Beverly Cox and husband, Larry, and Janis Reineke and husband Kevin all of Platte City and Wanda Eaton and husband, Don of Dearborn; grandchildren, Jamie Williams and husband Damone, Shane Cox, Mark and Kelly Reineke; one great-granddaughter, Alyah; and one step-great-granddaughter, Brianna; numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 16th at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Edgerton, MO
Burial: Dearborn, Cemetery
Visitation: 6:30-8:00 p.m. Thursday, October, 15th at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church or the American Diabetes Association.
