Betty L. (Bryan) Poage
Betty L. Poage, 80 of Platte City, MO passed away, May 13, 2012.
She was born on November 19, 1931 to Perry Oakland and Callie Frances (Deets) Bryan near Dearborn, MO where she grew up and attended school.
On May 19, 1956 she was united in marriage to Ellis Poage. After their marriage they lived in Kansas City, Kansas and in 1958 moved to Platte City where they made their home. Her husband, Ellis, passed away, June 30, 2001.
Betty was a Manger in Food Services for TWA. She was a Deputy Clerk at the Platte County Courthouse for many years. Betty was also a cook at Siegrist Elementary School in Platte City where she enjoyed the children and was known as “Ms. Betty.”
She had a lifelong love for horses. Betty and Ellis belonged to the American Saddle Horse Association.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Perry E. Byran and Robert N. Bryan.
She is survived by her two sisters, Frances L. Green, Wathena, KS and Evelyn M. Wright and husband Charles, Platte City, MO; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Bryan and Janette Bryan; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Graveside Inurnment: 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 18th at Allen Cemetery.
