In Remembrance Of

Betty Jean McLaughlin-Wade

Betty Jean McLaughlin-Wade, 78, of Smithville, MO passed away, Sunday, March 31, 2013 at her home.

She was born on June 26, 1934 to Arthur John Carl, Sr. and Barbara Jean (Thompson) Wuttke in Richmond, MO.

Betty was a waitress all her life, if you lived in any county around Smithville, you were probably served coffee by her.  Her life was meeting people and doing what she did best, serving people and giving her advice whether you wanted to hear it or not.  All 5’ tall and little firecracker, all you could do was agree.  Famous for her fresh baked pies delivered sometime in person.  If we all had the will power she did the world would be a better place.  God Bless the best person I could have as a mom.  We will all miss you so much.

She attended the Paradise Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her two sons, John Arthur Wade and Larry Dwight Wade, brother, Billy Wuttke and sister, Neoma Reeds.

Betty is survived by son, Steve Wade and wife Lisa; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brother, Arthur Wuttke and wife Kay; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services:  11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 3rd at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville.

Burial:  Smithville Memorial Cemetery

Visitation: 6:30-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

You are a wonderful cousin, and I will sure miss our phone conversations that we had so often. I will think of you often. Heaven has now been blessed with you and your little baby girl Angel.

Jean you were the most sweetest, well loved, happiest person I had the pleasure of being related to. I will miss you so very much. I loved when you would come to see us, you always had a smile and laughter to share. God has blessed us all with you and now has blessed heaven to. I know your smiling and so happy to be with your baby Angel. We will truly miss a fine lady.
