Betty Jean (Lester) Crawford
Betty Jean Crawford, 71, of Weston, MO, entered her heavenly home on February 13, 2011 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on January 18, 1940 to Paul Willard and Mary Alice (Branum) Lester in Kansas City, MO.
Betty was a capable and successful owner/operator of the Weston Pizzeria for many years. She also worked as head cook at Heritage Village for many years. Betty was tiny but mighty in her love for her children and grandchildren. She never missed attending their activities. Upon retiring she cared for her great-grandchildren. Nana was dearly loved by them and a very important part of their life.
She was hardworking, and raised her children alone. She loved her garden and flowers, fishing and garage sales. Her family can attest she was a fantastic cook.
Her last days were spent actively involved with her family. She was an inspiration to everyone by her determination to make her last days great.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brother Robert Leroy Lester and sister Nieli Rodriquez.
She is survived by her son Lloyd Douglas Crawford; daughter Linda Denise Crawford and husband Tommy, all of Weston; step-children Loren and Laura Crawford; grandchildren, Letrisha Case and husband Evan, Tatiana Marie Leipard and husband Matt, Dakota Coffey and Dustin Coffey; great-grandchildren, Shawn Michael, Bryan Leroy, Ashlyn Marie, and Hayley Marie; brother, James Lester and wife, Linda, Olathe, Kansas; sister, Mary Rodriquez, Kansas City, MO; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends and Pet Peaches.
She had a great faith in God and Rested in His love and promise of Eternal Life.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 19th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial: Lobb Cemetery, Blue Springs, MO
