Betty Beatrice (Bray) Hopkins

Betty Beatrice Hopkins, 88, of Gower, MO passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016.

She was born on March 12, 1928 to Teddy Sylvester and Mildred Beatrice (Todd) Bray in Osgood, MO.  Betty grew up in Plattsburg and in 1947 graduated from Plattsburg High School.

On March 4, 1949 she was united in marriage to Bob Ensign.  After their marriage they lived in Cameron.  Bob preceded her in death.  Betty married John Hopkins on June 28, 1981.  They lived in Hamilton, MO.  John passed away in 1986.  In 2005, Betty moved to Gower. 

Betty was a member of the Noland Road Baptist Church, Independence, MO.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Betty is survived by her daughters Rita Jean Ensign (Cris) and Shirley Ann Ensign, both of Independence, MO; granddaughters Barbara Workman and husband Rodney, Blue Springs, MO and Rebecca Ethridge, Independence, MO; great-grandchildren Kyra, Ryan, Emily, Malena, Braydon, Garrett, T.J. and CharlyAnn; sister Wanda Utz and husband Gene, Gower, MO; brother Tom Carrington and wife Barbara, Phoenix, AZ; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation: 5:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, June 13th at Noland Road Baptist Church, Independence, MO

Graveside Service: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 15th at Green Lawn Cemetery, Plattsburg, MO.
