Betty Ann (Yates) Hawkins

Betty Ann (Yates) Hawkins, 87, of Camden Point, MO passed away, Friday, February 3, 2017.

She was born on June 8, 1929 in Platte County, MO to Robert and Lena (Boydston) Yates.  Betty grew up in Platte County and graduated from Camden Point High School in 1948.

On January 27, 1951 she was united in marriage to William McKinley “Bill” Hawkins, Jr.  After their marriage they lived in the Platte County area, later moving to Camden Point where they made their home.  Her husband, Bill, passed away on March 4, 2007.

Betty was a member of the Hoover Christian Church.  She enjoyed traveling in the RV, attending Blue Grass Festivals, hunting mushrooms, camping, and spending time with her family.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, Bobby D. Yates, and brother-in-law, Bill Turner.

Betty is survived by her son, Lynn Hawkins and wife, Liz, Camden Point, daughter, Dena K. Boswell-Nooning and husband, David, Edgerton; sister, Marjorie Turner, Smithville; grandchildren, Krystal Parsons, Tiffany Johnson and husband Dan, and Joe Hawkins and wife Jill; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Kelsey Rushing, Shelby and Blake Boswell, and McKinley Adamson, Brantley Hawkins, Trevor and Carli Johnson; great-great-granddaughter, Keeley Johnson; nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. 

Funeral Service:  11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 7th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton, MO.

Burial:  Camden Point Cemetery

Visitation:  6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
