Bette Lu (Schuett) Martin
Bette Lu Martin, 63, of Lathrop, MO passed away, Friday, October 11, 2013.
She was born on December 7, 1949 to LuVerne Harlan and Elizabeth Ellen (Dahlman) Schuett in Storm Lake, Iowa. Bette graduated from Benson High School in Omaha, Nebraska. She received her LPN from Northwest Missouri State University and received her RN Degree from Park College.
On June 15, 1968 she was united in marriage to Charles Raymond Martin, Jr. After their marriage they made their home near Lathrop.
She was an LPN at Spelman Hospital in Smithville for 19 years, and retired as a Registered Nurse for Cameron Home Health.
Bette was a member of the Emmanuel Bible Church in Smithville. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, collecting baskets and angels.
She was preceded in death by her mother, step-mother, Margaret Schuett, and nephew, Wayne Schuett.
Bette is survived by her husband, Ray of 45 years; children, Jennifer Martin and Scott Martin and wife Amanda; grandchildren, Rex James Ramsey, Mackenzie, Aubrey and Bryson Martin; father, LuVerne Schuett; two brothers, Harlan Schuett and Larry Schuett and wife Mary; step-sister, Kathi Stufflebean and husband Ken; brothers-in-law, Steve Martin and wife Diane, Ronnie Martin and wife Jane, sister-in-law, Joyce Scott and husband Jim; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 15th at Faith United Church in St. Joseph, MO.
Visitation: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday at the church.
Burial: Mt. Auburn Cemetery, St. Joseph.
