Benjamin Harold Boydston
Benjamin Harold Boydston, 65 of Smithville, MO passed away Monday, September 29, 2014.
He was born on August 15, 1949 to Norton Howard and Mary Allene (Dunlap) Boydston in Waterloo, IA. Ben graduated from North Platte High School in 1967. He then served his country in the U.S. Army.
On October 10, 1970 he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Hankins. After their marriage they lived in Kansas City and in 2003 moved to Smithville.
Ben retired from the International Elevator Constructors Union Local #12 after 25 years. He liked to “play”, enjoyed music and being with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ben is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home; children, Angela Boydston and Erika Winston and husband Eric; grandchildren, Kevin, Christopher, Joseph, and Valory; brothers, Marion Boydston and Earl Boydston; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 3rd at Northland Cathedral, 101 NW 99th St, Kansas City, MO 64155
Burial: Dearborn Cemetery
Visitation: 6-8 pm Thursday at the church.
Donations may be made to Burnett Burn Center- Checks payable to KU Emdowment (memo: Burnett Burn Center)
