Beatrice Maurine (Brinton) Shorley

Beatrice Maurine (Brinton) Shorley, 86, of Florissant, MO, passed away December 26, 2010.

She was born on January 10, 1924 to Robert Finis and Mary Hazel (Smith) Brinton in Agency, MO where she grew up and graduated from Agency High School.

Maurine was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, William C. “Bill” Brinton, Harold F. Brinton and Eldon L. Brinton; and one sister, Elizabeth Gay.

Beloved mother of Marlin Dale Jr. (Julie), Don (Barb), Steve, Paul (Linda), Sandra Sue, Pam Teson (Rich), Brian, and Tracy; dear grandma of Sara, Andy (Angela), Brian, Joshua, Eric, Jonathan (Tara), Anna, Cliff, Lauren, Jennifer, Garrett, Kelsie, Melissa (Jose), and Michelle. Beloved great grandma of Mya, Madison, Lincoln, Regan, Ella, Caleb, and Nora; brothers, Bobbie Brinton (Betty), Ronnie Brinton (Joann), sisters in law Doris, Erma and Saramae Brinton, other relatives and many friends.

Her wishes were to be buried in her family cemetery in Agency, MO. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December, 29 from 10:00-12:00 p.m. at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower, burial will be immediately following. A memorial service will be held in St. Louis at St. Andrew United Methodist Church 3975 N. U.S. Highway 67, Florissant, MO on Saturday January1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. The family will accept condolences at a meal immediately following the memorial.

    Mrs. Shorley was truly a wise, beautiful, caring woman who I had the privilage of knowing as I was growing up. She was a working mother of 8 children who always had room for one more when we would stop by unannounced at dinner time, or to spend the night. My sincere heart felt sorrow goes out to the Shorley family for this great loss of their mother, but she is now at peace with God….
