Beatrice “Bea” Jean (Kissick) Snook
Beatrice Snook, 85 of Edgerton, MO passed away, Wednesday, November 20, 2013.
She was born on March 21, 1928 to Wallace and Miranda (Purvis) Kissick in Weston, MO. She grew up and attended school in Edgerton, MO. Bea later attended St. Joseph Beauty University in St. Joseph.
On May 11, 1946 she was united in marriage to James Marion Snook in Leavenworth, KS. After their marriage they lived near Edgerton where they farmed and made their home. Her husband, Marion, passed away, August 8, 2013.
Bea was a member of the Edgerton United Methodist Church.
She owned and operated B’s Nu Style Beauty Shop in Edgerton for 30 years.
Bea was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Otto Kissick and Ray Kissick, four sisters, Isola Smith, Maurine Hollar, Thelma Smith and Rose Downs; son Thumper Snook; and great-grandson, Daniel Snook, Jr.
Bea is survived by her sons, James “Hotshot” Snook, Jr. and wife Barbara, Edgerton, and David Wayne Snook, St. Joseph: daughter-in-law, Billie Snook, FL; five grandchildren, Jamie Lynn Cox, James Snook III, Aaron Snook, Daniel Snook, and T.J. Snook seven great-grandchildren; brother, James Kissick; sister Joan Turner; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 23rd at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton, MO.
Burial: Ridgely Cemetery.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
