Barbara Jean (Reed) Naughton
Barbara Jean Naughton, 75, of Trimble, MO formerly of Lake of the Ozarks, passed away Friday, May 9, 2008.
She was born on May 1, 1933 to Josh and Gladys (Cook) Reed in Edgerton, MO where she grew up and graduated from Edgerton High School.
On March 25, 1961 she was united in marriage to Norris A. “Jack” Naughton. After their marriage they lived in Iowa. They later moved to the Lake of the Ozarks where Barbara was a real estate land developer. On July 25, 1972 Norris passed away. In 1988 after her retirement, Barbara moved back to the Reed family farm near Trimble.
Barbara was also preceded in death by her parents, Josh and Gladys (Cook) Reed, her son, Danny Naughton, aunts and uncles, Gene Reed, Alpha Angeline Reed and Kathyrn Reed-Hershey.
She is survived by her companion, Carl D. Cooper of the home, daughter, Joshlyn Ann Naughton, Lebanon, MO, daughter-in-law, Beth Naughton, Smithville, MO, granddaughters, Jessica Heath and husband, Michael, Syracuse, NY, and Jennifer Naughton, Dekalb, IL, and special friends, Lloyd and Nellie Cain, Lake of the Ozarks.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 13th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial: Reed Cemetery, Trimble, MO

Barbara use to come into Gower and have a few cold ones. She was always so sweet and we would joke about having each others back. She would see me and turn around and say, Back to Back! She was a beautiful woman and I loved her bling. She was a very generous lady. My sympathy to the family.
