Barbara Jean

Barbara Jean "Polly" (Robbins) Latham, passed away, Friday, May 1, 2009.

She was born on January 23, 1931 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Chester and Blanche Ivey Robbins.

Polly graduated from Platte County High School in 1949 and married Gerald H. Latham, February 25, 1950. Polly was the owner and operator of the Dari Jean Drive in Platte City from 1963-1985.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Platte City and attended Hoover Christian Church. She was also a member of JayCee’s, Lady’s Lioness, Eastern Star Daisy Chapter 86 and she served as the “Chef” for the Lions Club for 20 years.

Polly was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Jerry, on February 8, 1991.

Polly leaves behind three children, Michael Latham, Kansas City, MO, Cathy Collings, Platte City, MO, and Vince Latham,, Kansas City, MO; three grandchildren, Brian Latham, Kansas City, MO, Christina (Collings) Sharp, Platte City, MO, and Clark Collings, Kansas City, MO; four great-grandchildren, Madelynne Sharp, Cooper Sharp, Emma Louise Sharp, and Max Collings; two sisters, Patsy Baber, Platte City, MO and Mary Jane Wilkinson, Vinton, LA, and one brother, Robin Robbins, Kansas City, MO, and great friend and companion, Mickey Pope.

Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 5th at the First Christian Church of Platte City.
