Barbara Ann Komer

Barbara Ann (Gipson) Komer, 76, of St. Joseph, MO passed away early Sunday morning, September 12, 2021, at her home peacefully. May she now have no more tears, pain or suffering.

She was born on June 15, 1945, in Kansas City, MO to the late Franklin L. Gipson and Georgia Auxier.  

Barbara never got to meet her mother because she passed away giving birth to her. She was raised by her mom’s sister and husband Arthur and Ethel Delaney of Gower. She worked for Whitaker Cable, Mead and Kmart from where she retired. Barbara also worked for the YWCA as an aquatic instructor and janitor for a few years then as a direct care support worker for the Unity Home, Inc. at the end.  

She leaves behind four cats and more outside that she leaves as well as thousands of books she loved to read. Most importantly, Barbara leaves two sons that survive of the home, Cliff (Andria) Butcher and Jerald Komer both of St. Joseph; four grandkids Ian Komer, Alexsus Albin, Draven Komer and Kaizen Komer and three great-grandkids.

A private graveside will be held at Allen Cemetery in Gower, MO
