Arnold Green

Edward Arnold Green, 67, of Smithville, MO passed away December 2, 2013.

 

He was born on November 8, 1946 to Patrick Henry and Nellie Lorene (Moore) Green in Smithville, MO where he grew up and graduated from Smithville High School in 1964. 

 

On July 1, 1966 he was united in marriage to Patsy Burbank.  They lived in Smithville and had two children Mark and Julie.  On November 20, 1984 he was united in marriage to Bonnie (Skinner) Ohl.  After their marriage they lived in Smithville where they made their home.    

 

Arnold went to work right after high school for Hallmark Cards in Kansas City where he worked for 35 years.  Most of those years were spent as machinist which was his passion.  He truly loved and lived every day to pursue the challenge of making “something out of nothing”.  He was notably an engineer by nature.  He enjoyed building steam engines and attending shows.  Arnold loved his dogs and most of all spending time with his family. 

 

He was preceded in death by his mother Nellie Lorene Green; two grandchildren, Amanda Suzanne Parker and Patrick James Parker.

 

Arnold is survived by his wife Bonnie Green of the home, children; Mark (Jenara) Green, Julie (Scott) Windle, Dennis (Steff) Ohl, Fred (Margie) Ohl; grandchildren, Taylor and Bevyn Green, Logan Windle, Ryan Shinneman, Brandon, Christa and Jordon Ohl, Katie Ohl, Kody Kyle, Elizabeth and Elijah Gromling. Great-grandchildren, Payton and Trinity; father, Patrick (Virginia) Green; sister, Arlene (Harold) Smith; brother, Ken (Cindy) Green; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. 

 

Memorial Service:  6:00 p.m.  Friday, December 6th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation following until 9:00 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers donations to the Smithville Food Pantry
