Annette Lourene (Anderson) Mick

 

Annette Lourene Mick, 71, of Gower, MO formerly of Smithville, MO passed away Saturday, February 16, 2008.

She was born on July 24, 1937 to Claude Thomas and Gladys Lourene (Russell) Anderson in Oneida Kansas where she grew up and in 1955 graduated from Oneida High School. In 1958, Annette received a Registered Nursing Degree from Missouri Methodist College in St. Joseph, MO.

On October 23, 1958 she was united in marriage to Robert E. Mick. After their marriage they lived in Smithville where they made their home. In 1998 they moved to the Gower area.

Annette had a lifelong career in nursing at Spelman Memorial Hospital in Smithville and later at St. Luke’s Northland Hospital. She was instrumental in the design of the emergency rooms for both hospitals.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Smithville, the Garland Chapter #287 Order of the Eastern Star where she was Worthy Matron, District Deputy Grand Matron, Grand Representative of South Dakota and Grand Organist of the Grand Chapter of Missouri. She was also a member of the Rebekah Fidelity Lodge #286 where she was a Noble Grand and a District Deputy Grand.

Annette was preceded by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Bob of the home, two daughters, Claudette Brinker and husband, Rex, Excelsior Springs, MO and Denise Mick, Trimble, MO, four grandchildren, Zachary and Nathan Brinker and John and Kara Gilpin, one brother, Russell Anderson, Seneca, KS, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 4:00 p.m. Friday, February 22nd at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation from 2:00-4:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Graveside Service: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 23rd at the Oneida Cemetery, Oneida, KS.
