Anna Lucille (Ross) Sell
Anna Lucille (Ross) Sell, 71, of Smithville, MO passed away April 5, 2008 at her home.
She was born on September 5, 1936 in Morrisville, Polk County, Missouri to Marvin Thomas and Vesta Roberta (Fuhr) Ross. The family moved to Fair Play, MO where Lucille grew up and graduated from high school in 1954.
A woman of great faith, Lucille accepted Christ as her Savior on June 17, 1952; following Him in baptism, and joining the Noble Hill Baptist Church. She continued to move her membership to other Baptist churches throughout the years as her place of residence changed; lastly becoming a member of the fellowship at Paradise Baptist Church in Paradise, Missouri.
On May 1, 1954, Lucille married Charles Hill in Bolivar, Missouri. Four children were born; two daughters and two sons: Luann Johnson, Lori, Chuck and Kerry Hill.
On October 19, 1979 , Lucille married William Aaron Sell. He preceded her in death on May 11, 1997. Also preceding her in death were her mother, Vesta Ross in 1991; her father, Marvin Ross in 1995 and her granddaughter, Julie Johnson in 1997.
Surviving Lucille are her daughter and son-in-law, Luann and Bill Johnson, Gower, MO and their children, Martina and Tanya Johnson and Aaron Babbitt; her daughter Lori Hill, Gladstone, MO; her son Charles Hill, Ferrelview, MO and his children Charlie, Christie, Katie and Craig; her son Kerry Hill, Platte City, MO; her step-son, Kevin Hunter and his wife Jane and their two daughters Emily and Jessica; her step-son Korbett Hunter and his two daughters Chelsea and Shea. Also surviving are two sisters; Leota Recknor, Bolivar, MO and Marvena Hall, Branson, MO; one brother, Robert Ross, Springfield, MO, aunts, uncles and numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Lucille loved the Lord and her family with all her heart. She was courageous and selfless and inspired all who knew her. She was a joy, a light from God, and she left this world a better place than she found it.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 11th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville.
Private family burial will be held at Paradise Cemetery, Paradise, MO
Visitation: 6:30-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
