Anna Laura (Whinery) Cozine
Anna Laura Cozine, 96, of Dearborn, MO, passed away on May 6, 2011.
She was born on January 27, 1915 to Emerson Ellsworth and Lydia (Chidlow) Whinery in Kansas City, Missouri, where she graduated from Central High School. She then attended St. Mary’s Nursing School where she received her nursing degree. Anna Laura was a registered nurse and worked at St. Mary’s Hospital, spent many years as a home health nurse, and in later years worked at the Gower Convalescent Center in Gower.
On May 22, 1954 she was united in marriage to Garrett Holland Cozine in Kansas City. After their marriage they farmed near Dearborn where they made their home. Her husband, Garrett, passed away January 23, 1991.
Anna Laura was an active member of the Dearborn Christian Church where she taught Sunday School. She was also a member of the Edgerton Chamber of Commerce.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Elsie Gray and Margaret Josephine Kelly.
Anna Laura is survived by her sister, Lydia Pilkington, Raytown, MO, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 14th at the Dearborn Christian Church with visitation 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
Burial: Davis Chapel Cemetery, Dearborn, MO

I got to know Anne when she would
come into the library in Edgerton
Anne liked to visit with you, and tell
of her childhood and her family whom
she loved very much . She will be
missed bt all who knew her. Anne was
a very special lady.
