Ann Coleman
Anna Louise Coleman, 92, of Smithville, MO passed away Friday, January 17, 2020.
She was born on March 8, 1927 to Stanford Lee “Dick” and Ruth (Morris) Ferguson in Independence, MO. Ann grew up in Kearney and Smithville, and graduated from Smithville High School.
On August 20, 1950 she was united in marriage to Donald Jesse Coleman. After their marriage they lived in Smithville where they made their home. Her husband passed away on July 10, 2010.
In earlier years, Ann worked as a lab technician at Spelman Memorial Hospital in Smithville. Ann and Donald owned and operated A&D Upholstery in Smithville for many years.
She was a member of the Church of God-Kansas City. In her free time, Ann enjoyed researching family history, camping, cooking, sewing and painting.
Ann was also preceded in death by her parents; siblings, twins Lelah and Leonard, Morris Ferguson and wife Juanita and Kenneth Ferguson.
She is survived by her sons, Kevin Coleman and wife, Cindy and Ramon Coleman and wife, Kate; four grandchildren, Joshua Coleman, Preston Coleman, Rachael (Daniel) Frazee and Jonathan Coleman; great-granddaughters, Annabelle and Sophia Frazee; sister-in-law, Mary Ferguson; several cousins including, Sue Lake, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 20th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Smithville with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial: Community of Smithville Memorial Cemetery.

Dear Coleman Family, I was so sorry to hear about the passing of your mom! I remember meeting her for the first time when I was in grade school and we all walked to school around the same time in our neighborhood! Many times we would ride bikes around there too! She would be out in your yard and would always wave or talk to us! She was soft spoken & just the kindest lady! She would be at the schools and followed Kevin & Raymond to any activities you were involved in! I admired her gentle ways! I am very sorry that I was Unable to attend her service!
