Andrew Charles Gilpatrick

Andrew Charles Gilpatrick, 82 of Hemple, MO formerly of St. Joseph and Kansas City, MO passed away, Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at his home.

 

Andy was born on July 15, 1930 to Edgar T. and Cecil M. (Hontz) Gilpatrick in Albany, MO where he grew up and attended school.  He lived in Kansas City and St. Joseph, MO and in 1989 he moved to Hemple, MO

 

Andy retired as a professional painter from Gilpatrick Painting and later owned and operated A&C’s New and Used in St. Joseph, MO.  He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, doing several crafts and was a jack of all trade. 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Roger Stewart Gilpatrick and step-sons, Randy and Roger Carpenter, brothers Lloyd and Kenneth and sisters, Leola Sexton and Virginia Hill.

 

Survivors:  wife, Connie; step-sons, Russell and Rodney Carpenter, step-daughters, Roxanne Liechti and Robin Wilson; daughter, Lynita McCorkendale; brothers, Bob, Gerald, and Larry; and sister, Betty Duncan; numerous extended family members.

 

Visitation:  6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.

    I love you and will miss you Uncle Andy. If I close my eyes I can see your big onery Gilpatrick lopsided grin and that makes me happy. Roger will be there with Jesus to welcome you into Heavens gate.
