Amanda Godfrey

Amanda Godfrey, 41, passed away, June 29, 2024.

She was born on April 16, 1983 to Johnny Lee and Shari Denise (Stuart) Godfrey in Smithville. She grew up in Smithville and graduated from Smithville High School. She then attended Truman State University in Kirksville. Amanda lived in St. Petersburg, FL, Seattle, WA, and in 2015 returned to Smithville and the Kansas City area.

Amanda was an artist. She loved to draw and read and write books.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jim and Marva Stuart, Roger and Connie Callahan, and Johnny Lyle Godfrey.

Amanda is survived by her children, Lucien, Lincoln, and Laynee; parents, John and Shari Godfrey; brother, Johnny (Lindsey) Godfrey; other relatives and many friends.

A private family Graveside Service was held July 5, 2024 at Smith Cemetery, Smithville, MO.

    I hope Amanda is at peace. I am so sorry for your loss. Please know we are thinking of you and if you need anything please let us know. If you need to get away you can come stay at the lake with us. We have a 2 bedroom suite down stairs. We can watch the grand kids and you two can have time.
