Alvin Dale Malott

Alvin Dale Malott, 69, of Gower, MO, formerly of Kansas City, MO, passed away Friday, May 28, 2010.

He was born on March 30, 1941 to Herbert Alexander and Beatrice Pearl (Hodges) Malott in Weaubleau, MO. He grew up and graduated from high school in Dalton, Arkansas.

On December 29, 1961 he was united in marriage to Sylvia Johanna Hunter. After their marriage they lived in Kansas City and in 1974 they moved to Gower where they made their home. His wife, Sylvia, passed away on November 16, 2003.

Alvin worked for TWA for over 32 years retiring in 1996 where he was a member of International Association of Machinists Local #1650. He also farmed near Gower for many years.

Alvin was also preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his son, Ace Malott and wife, Barbara, St. Joseph, MO; daughter Alice Otto and husband, Joe, Gower, MO; grandchildren Tiffany, Amanda, Alex, Trinity, Andy, Aaron, Chris, Sheldon, Marshall, Shelly, and Tommy; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald Malott, Savannah, Georgia and Gary Malott, Plattsburg, MO; sisters, Janice Rathbun, Grandview, MO and Judy Whitesell, Concordia, KS; his beloved dog “Pistol”; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 4th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower

Burial: Mt. Zion Cemetery, Gower

Visitation: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Donations: Mt. Zion Cemetery
