Allen Henry Eggen
Allen Henry Eggen, 60, of Smithville, MO, formerly of Raytown, Mo, passed away, Monday March 16, 2009.
He was born on September 25, 1948 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to Henry and Lucille (Russum) Eggen. Allen grew up in Raytown and in 1966 graduated from Raytown High School. He later received his Master’s Degree from the University of Missouri.
Allen and his father owned and operated a Remodeling and Repair Business for several years in Raytown. He also worked for Menorah Hospital, Children’s Mercy Hospital, Bethany Hospital and St. Luke’s Northland Hospital as a carpenter and later in Hospital Administration. In 1997 Allen and Rosalie moved to Smithville, where they owned and operated Eggen Construction Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Allen is survived by his wife, Rosalie Ann Eggen, of the home; children, Angela Garica, Kingsville, MO, Amy Harper, Liberty, MO, and First Lt. Joseph Eggen, Omaha, NE/Iraq; step children, Melissa Rieth, Springfield, MO and Randall Smith, Kansas City, MO, six grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 20th at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Smithville.
Inurnment: Paradise Cemetery
