Alice Marlene (Hughes) Divelbiss
Alice Marlene Divelbiss, 82 of Gower, MO passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015.
She was born on May 2, 1933 to Orbyn and Alpha (Perry) Hughes in Oregon, MO where she grew up and graduated from Oregon High School.
On October 22, 1983 she was united in marriage to Carlwyn Ross Divelbiss. They made their home near Stewartsville, MO. Ross passed away on August 19, 2002.
Alice was an active member of the Gower Christian Church, helping with church dinners and Meals on Wheels. Alice owned and operated Comptonâ??s Grocery Store in Gower where she loved being around the public. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and was a wonderful seamstress. She was active in the community and enjoyed being Mrs. Claus. Alice was a loving mother and grandmother.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter Becky Perry Klino, grandson Branson Perry, brother Orbyn, Jr., and sister Ermil.
Alice is survived by children Rick Lewis, Mona Lewis, Randy Lewis, and C.L. Compton; son-in-law Jim Klino; grandchildren Tina Hanway, Derek (Elaine) Richey, Trisha (Michael) Collard, Phillip Perry, and Christopher Lewis; seven great-grandchildren Tyler Moore, Jacob Hanway, Hanna Hanway, Michael Collard, Jr. , Andrew Collard, Miranda Richey, and Emma Richey; sister Janette Schneider; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 28th with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower
Burial: Mt. Zion Cemetery
