Alice Jane Martin

 

Alice Jane Martin, 60, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at the Cancer Treatment Center in Tulsa, OK.

She was born on June 24, 1950 to Pete and Dolores (Velasquez) Rodriguez in Kansas City, MO. In 1968 she graduated from East High School in Kansas City.

On May 21, 1983 she was united in marriage Richard Martin. After their marriage they lived in Kansas City where they made their home. Alice enjoyed being with her family and cooking for them.

Alice worked for Sears & Roebuck for 23 years. She also worked for the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Post Office all in the Kansas City area.

She was a longtime member of Calvary Temple Church, and attended Evangelistic Center Church both in Kansas City.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Rick, of the home; children, Lisa Langston and husband, Jonathan, Richard Alan Martin, Jr., Edward Williams and wife, Keri, Angie Williams, and Daniel Williams and wife, Karie; grandchildren, Jessi, Lucas, Joey, Jesse, Kayden, Alana, Samuel, Shane, Brandon, Karlee, Michela and Jacob; two great-nephews, Anthony and Brett; brothers and sisters, Peter Richard Rodriguez, Michael Rodriguez, Evelyn Gross, Paula Williams, Tommy Rodriguez, Cathy VanHorn, Maria Bryant; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 12th at Calvary Temple, 5607 St. John Ave , Kansas City, MO .

Burial: Second Creek Cemetery, Kansas City

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the church.

    I worked with Alice at the Postal Service. She was always very sweet and kind. She had a cute little laugh. I will miss her dearly

    Truly sorry for the lost of your loved one. May God comfort you. Only knew Alice for a short period of time hear at the KCK NDC but she was always friendly to all she met.
