Alden Sharp

Alden Sharp, 93, of Kansas City, MO passed away, December 9, 2021.

He was born on January 24, 1928 to John Estel and Hattie March (Rose) Sharp in Smithville, MO. Alden grew up in Smithville and graduated from Smithville High School.

On October 22, 1954 he was united in marriage to Norma Dale Malott. After their marriage, they lived on the family farm in Platte County where they made their home. His wife preceded him in death on August 20, 2010.

Alden was a union mill wright for Owens Corning Fiberglass for over 20 years. His passion was farming and raising various types of animals.

He was a member of the Second Creek Christian Church.

Alden was also preceded in death his parents; brothers, J.C. Sharp, Norman Sharp and Julian Sharp; and sister, Jeanette Zigler, 

He is survived by his daughters, Margaret (Darryl) Wagner and Penny Craig; three grandchildren, Elise (Adam) Hector, Dane (Taylor) Craig, and Natalie Craig (Shaun Prescotte); several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 14th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial with Military Honors: Second Creek Cemetery, Kansas City, MO

Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
