Albert Lee Huffman, 79, of Plattsburg, Mo., passed away, Thursday, July 7, 2005 at his home.

He was born on September 11, 1925 to William Albert and Nancy Adeline (Scott) Huffman in Franklin, Mo., where he grew up and attended school. Lee then served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, where he received the Purple Heart from injuries received on Normandy Beach. After his honorable discharge he returned to Franklin.

On July 3, 1943 he was united in marriage to Virginia Wilborn. After their marriage they lived in Franklin, Kansas City, Ks., and Smithville, Mo. His wife, Virginia, preceded in death on December 17, 1980. Lee then moved to Edgerton. On February 14, 1995 he married Ella (Seimears) Kleine. After their marriage they lived in Denver, Mo., and recently moved to Plattsburg.

Lee was a machinist for Fairbanks-Morse in Kansas City, Ks., retiring in 1984. He was a member of United Steel Workers in Kansas City, Ks.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, son, Gary Huffman, two grandsons, one great-grandson, four brothers and one sister.

In the 1960s Lee played the fiddle at the Edgerton Legion Hall for square dances, and also played with the Gower Goodtimers.

Lee is survived by his wife, Ella, of the home, eight sons, Dennis and wife, Sue, Kansas City, Ks., Thomas and wife, Linda, Gilbert, Az., Johnny, Lathrop, Mo., James, Independence, Mo., Bruce and wife, Star, Basehor, Ks., Earl and wife, Teresa, Edwardsville, Ks., Garland and wife, Teresa, Braymer, Mo., Marlin and wife, Ruth Ann, Smithville, Mo., four daughters, Sharon Lee, Eudora, Ks., Karen Nelson and husband, Larry, Excelsior Springs, Mo., Marsha Hendricks and husband, Danny, Kansas City, Ks., and Jovanna Wells, Edgerton, Mo., step-daughter, Lorrena Kirkland and husband, Bob, Plattsburg, Mo., twenty-two grandchildren, sixteen step-grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren, twenty-nine step-great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren one brother, Arthur Huffman, Springfield, Mo., two sisters, Alma Friedrich, Denver, Mo., and Louise Haslip, Springfield, Mo, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 9th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower, Mo.
Graveside Service: 2:30 p.m. Saturday, at the Clarks Chapel Cemetery, Franklin, Mo.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home in Gower
