Albert L. Srite, Sr.

Albert L. Srite, Sr., 91, of Smithville, Mo., passed away, Thursday, January 27, 2005 at Beverly Health and Rehab.

He was born on May 26, 1913 to Albert Clay an Nancy Gertrude (Ligget) Srite in Big Horn, Montana. When he was young the family moved to Edgerton. Al later attended school in Liberty, Mo.

On May 14, 1943 he was united in marriage to Ruth Frances Stratten. After their marriage they lived in Licking, Mo., Gashland, Mo., and in 1961 moved to Smithville where they made their home. His wife, Ruth, passed away in 1981.

Al was a shoe cobbler in Smithville for many years, operated a school bus system and was a contract carrier for the Kansas City Star.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Lillian White and Myrtle Bryant.

Al is survived by two sons, Albert L. Srite, Jr., and wife, Margaret, Gower, Mo., John D. Srite and wife, Mary J., Smithville, Mo., four grandchildren, Robin C. Srite, Independence, Mo., Rachel Billings, Agency, Mo., Kimberly M. Robinette, Smithville, Mo., and David K. Srite, Steam Boat Springs, Co., four great-grandchildren, Colby, Clayton, Davey, and Rylee, two sisters, Evelyn Honey, Smithville, Mo., and Laura Baber, Spring Park, Minnesota, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 30th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville, Mo., with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Private Family Inurnment at Ridgely Cemetery will be held at a later date.
