Alan Frank Boydston
Alan Frank Boydston, 59, of Plattsburg, MO, passed away, Tuesday, August 2, 2011 as a result of a vehicle accident.
He was born on November 17, 1951 to Albert Emmitt and Virginia (Studdard) Boydston in Leavenworth, Kansas. He grew up and attended school in Platte City. He then served his country in the U.S. Marines Corps as a Staff Sgt. for ten years. Alan served two tours in Vietnam and was also chosen for Presidential Guard in Washington D.C.
On January 31, 1981 he was united in marriage to Judy Ann Dunn. After their marriage they lived in Kansas City and in 1991 they moved to rural Gower. In 2002 they made their home in Plattsburg.
Alan was a over the road truck driver for fifteen years, and was currently a shag driver for Triumph Foods in St. Joseph. He was a member of the Gower American Legion Post #393.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Phillip and Richard Boydston, infant brother, Craig, and an infant sister, Genevieve.
Alan is survived by his wife, Judy, of the home; children, Melissa Asbury and husband, John, Julie Crowley, Lisa Bailey, Shelli Howerton and husband, Allen, Samantha Boydston, and Alan Boydston, Jr.; grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Jacob, David, Amber, Jesse, Ashley, Tiffany, Seth, Michael, Kyle, Zachary, Makyla, Miranda, and Allie; seven great-grandchildren and one on the way; brother, Dale Boydston and wife, Barbara; mother-in-law, Lorraine Manley and husband, Russ; brother-in-law, Gene Dunn and wife, Bonnie; sister-in-law, Janice Bates; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Military Honors at 6:00 p.m. with visitation following until 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 5th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.
Inurnment Hampton Cemetery, Kansas City, MO
Donations may be made to Hampton Cemetery or Gower American Legion
