Adrian Baber
He was born on November 4, 1950 to Elmer Leon and Leo Fawn (Pope) Baber in Kansas City, MO. Adrian grew up in Smithville with his grandparents Kate and Buster Baber and graduated from Smithville High School. He then served his country in the US Navy on the USS Kittyhawk to Vietnam and then later the USS Lexington. He later served in the US Army National Guard and served 2 tours in the Middle East. He was proud to serve and protect the country and the people he loved. After his honorable discharge, Adrian returned to Smithville where he made his home.
Adrian married Theresa Stapleton and they had two sons Nathan Baber and Caleb Baber. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. After suffering various illnesses, Adrian resided at Ashton Court. The family would like to thank KC Hospice, his favorite nurses Connie and Stacey, the rest of the staff at Ashton Court and Charlotte for all they did for Adrian.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 12th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville
Graveside Service with Military Honors: 12:30 p.m. Wednesday June 13th at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS

I knew Adrian in the 70s-80s. What a great guy. Sorry I moved and lost contact. Glad to have crossed his path and I’m sure he will be missed by many. Rest in peace brother.
