Ron Conner

Ronald Alan Conner, 70, of Liberty, MO passed away June 27, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Ronald Alan Conner was born on January 5, 1954, to Cecil and Lula Conner. He grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, alongside his eight brothers and four sisters. On September 12, 1972, he enlisted in the Marines, where he served with distinction until his honorable discharge as a sergeant on July 11, 1978. Ronald married Phillis Lee Harrelston on July 6, 1979, in Dallas, Texas.

He was a dedicated worker, and after his discharge from the Marines, he spent many years as a mail carrier for the United States Post Office. He also worked as a truck driver for various companies, including Pitney Bowes, 7Up, and Miller. When Ron wasn’t working, he loved spending time with his family or leisurely driving around Kansas City. He lived a simple life, always giving generously to those around him with his big, loving heart and quick wit. A true music enthusiast, he enjoyed all genres, especially the tunes of Rod Stewart and George Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Gary Conner and sister, Beverly Conner. 

Ron is survived by his wife, Phillis, daughters Debra Ann Banker (Brian), Connie Jane Conner Glenn, Stacie Marie Hall, Nicole Busbea, Lindsay Sewell (Sam), sons Shawn Conner (Kathy), Casey Conner, Ryan Conner, grandchildren, Tyler, Courtney (Nathan), Kelsey (Jake), Brett (Ferrin), Jaylynn (Olivia), Kaylee, Kaitlyn, Jackson, Mason, Addison and Mason; great grandsons, Noah and Theodore, brothers, Donald Conner, Richard Conner, Melvin Conner, Tom Conner, Cecil Conner, Steven Conner and Keith Conner, sisters Barbara Armstrong, Beckie Fox and Mary Bootka, and several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 3rd at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Smithville, MO.
